With the new TNY-5 family, Power Integrations has launched a new switching regulator family for power supply development.
The family covers a very wide power range from 10W to 175W, making this relatively simple switching regulator suitable for many applications.
The switching regulator is used in the well-known flyback converter topology:
The variable internal current limit and the switching frequency of the controller achieve a very high efficiency compared to the older TNY or TOP switch families.
